Holger Tautscher-Groh

Holger Tautscher-Groh was born on July 27,1976, in Weiz, a town in Styria (Austria).He studied violin with Gernot MasterlierFranz Diethard, Alfred Staar, Rainer Küchl and Tibor Varga.

From 2000 to 2006 he was first concertmaster with the Graz Symphony Orchestra and became assistant to Fabio Luisi. From 2004 to 2008 he was also artistic director of the orchestra.

Violinist Holger Tautscher-Groh joined the Vienna State Opera Orchestra in 2006. He became member of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in 2009. Since 2009 he is 2nd violinist in the Steude Quartet.

As chamber musician he performed at festivals as Styriarte, Carinthischer Sommer, Osterklang Wien, Brucknerfest Linz, Grafenegg Festival and Salzburg Festival.

As a Soloist he performed under the direction of conductors such as Max Pommer, Israel Yinon, Arturo Tamayo and Milan Horvat.

 

Several live recordings and CD productions have been made by different broadcasting companies such as the ORF and the labels Columbia, harmonia mundi, Camerata, Sony Classical and Deutsche Grammophon.
